Southampton Hospital, an affiliate of the Stony Brook University Medical Center, is fully accredited and offers an extensive range of ambulatory and inpatient services, from primary medical care to emergency treatment and specialized surgical procedures. Nearly all members of the medical staff are board certified in their specialties, and the hospital is equipped with some of the most advanced diagnostic and treatment technology available today.

Southampton Village Police DepartmentAccredited by the State of New York, the Southampton Village Police Department is comprised of a sworn staff of thirty personnel, seven full time Public Safety Dispatchers, three Ordinance Officers, five School Crossing Guards, and three full time Administrative Staff personnel. The Department employs additional Seasonal Police Officers and Ordinance Officers in the summer months as needed.

The Police Department is a full service department consisting of a Patrol Division, an Investigations Division, Communications Section, a Canine Unit, a Community Orientated Police Enforcement Unit (C.O.P.E.) which includes Beach Patrol, Bike Patrol, Highway Patrol, and Juvenile Services, as well as a Special Patrol Section which includes an officer in the East End Drug Task Force, a K-9 Unit, and Special Response Team.

The Southampton Village Volunteer Ambulance was founded in 1993 and is made up of volunteers and paid providers. The SVVA maintains two Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulances, two ALS first responder vehicles and one Basic Life Support (BLS) first responder. Together, EMS providers of the SVVA provide our Village residents and visitors state-of-the-art emergency medical care at home, in business, or on the street.

The Southampton Fire Department was established in 1881. Three Fire Stations are located on Windmill Lane, Hampton Road and St. Andrews Road. 145 dedicated and well-trained men and women volunteer utilize 21 pieces of state-of-the-arts emergency response apparatus including a newly purchased million dollar aerial vehicle.

The Fire Marshall improves the Quality of Life for the Village of Southampton residents, business owners and tourists through the Leadership, Development and Administration of Fire Safety Programs. The Department of Fire Prevention enforces the Village Code including State Fire and Property Maintenance Codes through measures and procedures that emphasize compliance and striving to reduce the loss of life and property through Education, Inspections, Investigations, Building Plan Reviews and Enforcement.
